Institutional Access
Institutional access allows users within a medical center to use the software without having to log-in with a user name or password. To obtain institutional access, someone with authority in a department, residency program, medical center or medical school needs to do the following:
Step 1
Collect the IP number information using one of the following two approaches:- Do it yourself: Check the IP numbers that we detect for computers in locations for which you want institutional access. Do this from at least one location by clicking here. The page will report an IP number in the format 123.132.12.13. If the relevant locations all report numbers with the same first two numbers, we just need those two numbers to enable the whole group such as 123.132.*.*.
- Get an administrator to do it: Ask your network administrator or medical librarian to look up the "IP masks" (subnet numbers) that the medical center or medical school uses to access the internet. Typically this is one or more sequences in a format such as 123.132.*.*. The IP numbers for accessing the internet are those reported by the Web page here, which may differ from IP numbers used within the institution.
Step 2
Send the IP number information to SimulConsult using the e-mail address here, and state how you would like the institution to be listed. We will let you know when institutional access has been enabled.
The medical centers listed below already have institutional access. If you are within one of these institutions and your location is not allowed to enter the software without a password use the procedure above to send us the IP number information for your location. The medical centers are:
